Penggunaan angka di dalam pengucapan Bahasa Inggris memang cukup banyak. Mulai dari nominal uang, usia, tanggal, nomor rumah, nomor telepon dan masih banyak hal lagi yang melibatkan penggunaan angka di dalamnya. Berikut ini kami berikan daftar angka mulai dari satuan hingga jumlah triliun.
Catatan Penting
Perlu diingat bahwa di dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Indonesia terdapat sedikit perbedaan penyebutan nama angka dan notasi angka. Apabila di dalam Bahasa Indonesia angka ribuan biasanya dipisahkan dengan tanda “.” (contoh : 10.000, sepuluh ribu), namun di dalam Bahasa Inggris angka ribuan dipisahkan oleh tanda “,” (contoh : 10,000, ten thousand, sepuluh ribu).
Perbedaan lainnya yang juga harus diperhatikan yaitu dalam penyebutan juta, milyar dan triliun. Penyebutan angka dengan enam angka nol dalam Bahasa Indonesia disebut sebagai “juta” sedangkan dalam Bahasa Inggris disebut sebagai “million”. Sebagian orang mungkin menganggap “million” sama dengan “milyar”, padahal tidak.
Penyebutan anhka dengan Sembilan angka nol dalam Bahasa Indonesia disebut sebagai “milyar” sedangkan dalam Bahasa Inggris disebut sebagai “billion”. Untuk penyebutan angka dengan 12 angka nol dalam Bahasa Indonesia disebut dengan “triliun” dan dalam Bahasa Inggris disebut dengan “trillion”.

- Saya tinggal di rumah ini sejak 1997 → I lived in this house since nineteen ninety seven.
